Backsense® uses a radar sensor to detect obstacles in the monitored zone. The in-cab display indicates their proximity to assist with manoeuvres, including on construction sites and in work yards.
A detection zone selected for your vehicle
Detection range and width depend on the model. The range includes preset zones and programmable versions. Selection takes into account the vehicle dimensions, equipment extending beyond the body and the area to be monitored.
Radar and AI person detection
Radar can detect a person, but a nearby object with a stronger radar reflection may prevent that person from being detected. An AI camera can complement the system by identifying people. Equipment is selected for the application.
The sensor must remain unobstructed, clean and regularly checked. Detection also depends on the object, its position and operating conditions. The system supplements the operator’s checks.
